Week 2 ( 26/10/2026 - 30/10/2026)
Week 2
Introduction
The second week of teaching practice at G.H.S. Plavoor was a wonderful and memorable experience. During this week, several school assemblies, awareness programmes, and quiz competitions were conducted. We actively participated in organising these programmes and cooperating with the teachers.
UP Assembly
The UP assembly was conducted during this week. It was an informative and well-organised assembly in which students used Malayalam, Hindi, and English to present book reviews, read newspapers, and share other information. The assembly provided students with opportunities to improve their reading skills, language abilities, and general knowledge. It was a wonderful experience for both students and teacher trainees.
High School Assembly
The high school assembly was also conducted successfully. Several prize distributions took place during the assembly to recognise students' achievements in sports events and other competitions. It was a proud moment for the students who received prizes. The programme encouraged students to participate in various activities and develop their talents.
TB Awareness Session
During this week, a TB awareness session was organised for SPC and NCC students. The programme aimed to create awareness about tuberculosis and its prevention. We actively participated in maintaining discipline and coordinating with the teachers during the session. It was an informative and useful programme that helped students understand the importance of health awareness.
SPC Quiz Competition
A quiz competition was also organised by the SPC students. We actively participated in conducting the programme and cooperated with the teachers to ensure its smooth functioning. The competition encouraged students to improve their general knowledge, develop their thinking skills, and participate confidently in academic activities.
Scholarship Quiz Competition
A Social Science quiz competition was conducted as part of a scholarship programme. We actively participated in organising and conducting the competition with the support of the teachers. It was a different and valuable experience for us. The programme encouraged students to improve their knowledge of Social Science and develop a greater interest in the subject.
Reflection
The second week of teaching practice was filled with meaningful experiences. Participating in assemblies, awareness programmes, and quiz competitions helped us understand the importance of planning, coordination, teamwork, and discipline in school activities. These experiences also helped us develop our organisational skills and build a better understanding of the various responsibilities of a teacher beyond classroom teaching.
