Week - 5(3/8/2026 - 7/8/2026)

Introduction

This week was a meaningful and productive week in my teaching practice. I completed the fourth chapter, "Basic Economic Problems," in Class VIII C. I also conducted an achievement test for the students, which was a new and valuable experience for me. Along with classroom teaching, I actively participated in various school activities, including the L.P. and U.P. assembly, Hiroshima Day programmes, Mid-Day Meal Service, and the cleaning and arrangement of the Social Science Lab. These activities provided me with opportunities to develop my teaching, organisational, and teamwork skills.

Classroom Experience

This week, I completed the fourth chapter, "Basic Economic Problems," with Class VIII C. The students actively participated in the classroom activities and responded well to the lessons. After completing the chapter, I conducted an achievement test to assess the students' learning and understanding. Conducting an examination was a wonderful experience for me because I got an opportunity to understand how a teacher plans, manages, and conducts an assessment. Overall, my classroom experience this week was very positive and helped me gain confidence in teaching and assessment.

L.P. and U.P. Assembly

The school conducted the regular L.P. and U.P. assembly this week. It was a well-organised and interesting programme. The speciality of the assembly was the presentation of Hindi, English, and Malayalam book reviews, along with the news reading. The students presented the book reviews confidently and demonstrated their reading and communication skills. A special programme related to Hiroshima Day was also included in the assembly, with students presenting songs, speeches, and other activities. The assembly provided students with an opportunity to develop confidence and express their ideas before others.

Hiroshima Day Celebration

The school observed Hiroshima Day through various meaningful activities. As part of the programme, we prepared small emblems related to Hiroshima and made paper birds symbolising peace. We wore these emblems throughout the day on Friday to create awareness about the importance of peace and the consequences of war. Various activities, including poster-making and other creative programmes, were also organised for the students. The students participated actively and enthusiastically in these activities. The programme helped create awareness among students about the importance of peace and humanity.

Mid-Day Meal Service

We actively participated in the Mid-Day Meal Service throughout the week. Along with serving food to the students, we also helped the school staff in the kitchen. We assisted in carrying and arranging the food and supported the smooth distribution of meals to the students. This experience helped us understand the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and service in school life.

Social Science Lab Cleaning 

This week, we actively participated in cleaning and arranging the Social Science Lab. We cleaned the laboratory and organised the materials properly. Maps, globes, charts, and other Social Science-related equipment were arranged systematically so that they could be easily accessed and used for teaching and learning. The lab was completely cleaned and well organised after the activity. This experience helped us understand the importance of maintaining teaching-learning resources and keeping the school environment neat and organised.

Reflection

This week was a very valuable learning experience for me. Completing a new chapter and conducting an achievement test helped me improve my teaching and assessment skills. The achievement test gave me practical experience in examining students' learning and understanding. Participating in the L.P. and U.P. assembly, Hiroshima Day programmes, Mid-Day Meal Service, and Social Science Lab cleaning helped me develop teamwork, responsibility, communication, and organisational skills. Overall, this week was a memorable part of my teaching practice and helped me gain greater confidence as a future teacher.
