Week 9

Introduction

This week was another meaningful and valuable week in my teaching practice. The school conducted various academic and regular programmes, and we actively participated in them. I received an opportunity to serve as a judge for the speech competition, which was a new and useful experience for me. I also participated in the Mid-Day Meal Service and the special assembly conducted for Hindi Divas. These activities helped me develop confidence, responsibility, communication skills, and organisational abilities.

Speech Competition

The school conducted a Speech Competition for the students during this week. We actively participated in organising and conducting the programme and also served as the judges for the competition. We listened carefully to the students' speeches and evaluated their performances. The students participated enthusiastically and expressed their ideas with confidence. Serving as a judge was a good experience in my teacher training because it helped me understand how to observe, evaluate, and provide fair feedback to students.

Hindi Divas Assembly

The school conducted a special assembly to celebrate Hindi Divas. The entire assembly was conducted in Hindi, which made it different from the regular assemblies. The students presented the prayer, news, speeches, and other items in Hindi. The importance of Hindi Divas was explained through the various programmes. The students participated actively and confidently in the assembly. It was an interesting experience that helped me understand how special assemblies can be used to promote language learning and cultural awareness.

School Election 

The school conducted an election process to select class leaders and the School Chairperson/Student Representative. The election was organised in a systematic manner, giving students an opportunity to participate in the democratic process. We actively supported the teachers in conducting the election. We helped arrange the students, guided them during the election process, and assisted the teachers with the necessary arrangements. It was a valuable experience for us because it helped us understand how democratic values such as participation, responsibility, leadership, and cooperation can be developed among students through practical activities.

Mid-Day Meal Service

We actively participated in the Mid-Day Meal Service during the week. We worked together with the teachers to serve food to the students and helped maintain an organised arrangement during lunchtime. This was a good experience in my teacher training because it helped me develop a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and cooperation with the school staff.

Reflection

This week was a valuable learning experience in my teaching practice. Being a judge for the speech competition gave me an opportunity to develop my observation and evaluation skills. The Hindi Divas assembly helped me understand the importance of promoting different languages and cultural activities in school. Participating in the Mid-Day Meal Service also strengthened my teamwork and sense of responsibility. Overall, the activities of this week helped me gain confidence and provided me with practical experiences that will be useful in my future teaching career.
